BLA, BLF serving foreign masters, not Balochistan: Mir Nadeem ur Rehman

QUETTA: Senior politician Mir Nadeem ur Rehman has strongly criticised the Indian backed terrorist groups in Balochistan, calling out their leadership for hypocrisy, elitism, and collusion with foreign powers.

Speaking at the Burak Digital podcast, Mir Nadeem ur Rehman questioned the sincerity of Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) leaders toward the people of Balochistan. “If they truly cared about Balochistan,” he said, “why have they built mini-kingdoms within their regions, treating their own people as subjects?”
He said that these groups leaders deliberately keeping the local population deprived of education, employment, and awareness to maintain their grip on power.

“They fear an enlightened, educated population,” Rehman said. “They are afraid that if the people gain awareness, they might challenge the feudal control these leaders enjoy over their territories.”

The veteran politician alleged that BLA operates on a dual strategy — one brother stays in Pakistan acting as the political face of terrorism, while another appeals to anti-Pakistan elements abroad. “They beg for support from people like Narendra Modi, who is internationally known for anti-Muslim policies,” he added.

Rehman also criticized the BLA’s historical loyalty shifts, claiming that their forefathers served the British, then aligned with the Soviet Union, and now seek favor with India. “Their double standards are not new,” he remarked. “They have always been willing to sell out to whichever global power targets Pakistan.”

Refuting BLA’s propaganda, Rehman threw down a public challenge: “They sit abroad and speak about Balochistan, but we live here — in Quetta, among our people. We are the real sons of this soil. If they claim to represent Balochistan, let them return and prove it.”

He ridiculed exiled Baloch leaders for accepting financial support from India while defaming Pakistan. “They have made a habit of surviving on India’s scraps,” Rehman said. “Their statements are just an effort to justify the foreign stipends they or their elders receive.”

He concluded by warning that such propaganda serves only to please foreign sponsors and maintain a flow of foreign funds. “They have done this in the past and continue to do so today,” he stated. “But the people of Balochistan know better now.”
