BLA attack on power tower plunges Kharan into darkness

KHARAN: The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a terrorist organization, destroyed a major power transmission tower in Kharan, plunging the entire region into darkness and leaving critical infrastructure, including hospitals, without electricity.

The sudden blackout has severely impacted medical services, with ventilators and other life-saving equipment in local hospitals shutting down, putting vulnerable patients’ lives at immediate risk.

As per the verified sources of officials, the attack occurred around midnight, when BLA militants targeted the tower supplying electricity to Kharan and surrounding areas. The resulting outage was total, with homes, businesses, and public facilities left without power.

The group has previously targeted security forces, government offices, and critical infrastructure, including communication and energy networks, in a bid to pressure authorities and draw attention to their demands for greater autonomy and resource control.
