GWADAR: Gwadar Port achieved another milestone as the special cargo ship MV AHM Leader successfully berthed at the port.
During this operation, 35 units of transshipment cargo were handled. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar, stated that Gwadar Port is rapidly emerging as a secure and reliable maritime hub amid rising regional tensions.
He added that international shipping lines are increasingly turning to Gwadar as a safe alternative, especially as traditional shipping routes in the region have been disrupted due to ongoing tensions. This has significantly boosted the port’s strategic importance.
The Minister highlighted that Gwadar Port and its Free Zone currently have the capacity to handle 16,000 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) of containers.
He emphasized that the port will play a key role in promoting Pakistan’s Blue Economy and enhancing regional trade.
