BBoIT, fisheries dept sign agreement to propel Balochistan’s economy

Karachi to review the progress of a major shrimp farming project planned for the coastal areas of Balochistan. The meeting was chaired by Bilal Khan Kakar, Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT).

QUETTA: A “historic” agreement was signed between the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) and the provincial Fisheries Department in a ceremony at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Tuesday, a move hailed as a milestone for the province’s economy.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, who presided over the event, described the pact as the practical realization of a long-standing dream for Balochistan. He praised the efforts of the teams involved and highlighted the vast investment opportunities in key sectors like fisheries, agriculture, and mining.

CM Bugti stated that the project is expected to generate employment for thousands of young people in the province and provide new direction and momentum to the economic development of Balochistan.

The ceremony was attended by provincial ministers, Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries, and BBoIT Vice President Bilal Kakar, among other senior officials.
