QUETTA: The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has officially announced its full participation in the upcoming Quetta local government elections, scheduled for December.
The announcement was made by the party’s central spokesperson and former interior minister, Mir Ziaullah Langove. He stated that BAP believes in the principle of devolving power to the grassroots level and is committed to contesting the polls to achieve this goal.
While addressing party leaders and youth delegations, Langove urged workers to intensify their public relations campaign and work hard for the party’s success. He emphasized that the party’s youth wing has a “heavy responsibility” to communicate BAP’s manifesto directly to voters to gain public support.
Langove also indicated that the possibility of electoral alliances with other political parties is not off the table. He confirmed that consultations are ongoing with various political parties, tribal leaders, and public representatives. Any final decision on forming alliances will be made by the party’s central leadership, with public interest as the top priority.
Reiterating the party’s core philosophy, the spokesperson said, “Balochistan Awami Party has been of the view since day one that there will be no compromise on public rights.” He expressed confidence that BAP would achieve a “historic victory” in the local elections and continue its mission of public service and development for the province.
Meanwhile the process for the local government election has begun is Quetta.
The candidates are submitting their nomination papers to the returning officers.
The submission of the nomination papers will continue between 13th to 17th of November.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be carried out from 19 to 24th November.
The deadline for filing appeals with the Appellate Tribunal against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers by Returning Officers is November 28.
All parties across Quetaa busy in campaign and preparing for the elections which will be held next month in December.
