BAP President Khalid Magsi pledges united effort for province

BAP Leadership Vows to Champion Balochistan's Rights and Prosperity

QUETTA: In a central council session held on Saturday, the newly elected leadership of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) pledged to continue serving the people and championing the province’s rights, while calling for political solutions to its long-standing issues.

Presiding over the session, the newly elected BAP President, Nawabzada Khalid Magsi, stated that the party is like a flourishing garden where workers and leaders work together without discrimination. He emphasized that their core manifesto is to serve the people and solve their problems.

Addressing the convention, Central Secretary General Senator Manzoor Khan Kakar affirmed that BAP has consistently worked for the province’s betterment and credited the party workers for its vitality.

Key leaders highlighted several pressing demands for Balochistan. The party’s Chief Organizer, Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali, echoed Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s stance that the problems of Balochistan require political dialogue. He stressed the need to resolve issues related to border trade and other areas, stating, “Balochistan should also be considered equal to other units… so that the province’s status as a backward province ends”.

Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali further announced the party’s preparations to contest the next elections, while also cautioning against any “air raid at the last minute”.

Member of Assembly Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani recounted that the very purpose of forming BAP in 2018 was to develop Balochistan in collaboration with the federation. The party made a specific demand to facilitate cross-border trade for the people of Balochistan, noting that it is a crucial source of livelihood. “If there is a source of livelihood in Balochistan,” he said, “the people will get education and build their own homes”.
