Balochistan govt announces establishment of Bank of Balochistan

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has announced the establishment of the Bank of Balochistan, marking what officials describe as a historic step for the province’s economy.

During a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the initial feasibility report for the project was presented and declared viable. The chief minister directed authorities to prepare an operational plan within one week.

Addressing the meeting, Bugti said the Bank of Balochistan would provide modern banking facilities to the public, traders, and investors. He assured that the people of the province would soon hear good news, as the initiative would boost economic activity and open new avenues of growth.

“The Bank of Balochistan will prove to be a historic milestone for the province’s economy,” Bugti stated. “It will create new employment opportunities for youth and accelerate the pace of development projects by effectively utilizing provincial resources.”

Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, and other senior officials attended the meeting. Banking sector experts also participated online and endorsed the plan, agreeing to work toward making the project operational at the earliest.
