ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has urged political leaders to place national interests above personal gains and unite to address Balochistan’s longstanding issues.
Speaking during a meeting with senior party leaders, Shujaat said Pakistan’s national leadership must “find solutions to the challenges facing Balochistan” and expressed his readiness to play his role, as he had done in the past, to promote political stability and reconciliation.
Among those present were senior vice president Chaudhry Salik Hussain, provincial general secretary Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, chief organizer Dr. Muhammad Amjad, MNA Farukh Khan, central information secretary Mustafa Malik, Rizwan Sadiq, Mehrin Malik, Dr. Raheem Awan, Anila Chaudhry, Chaudhry Jahangir, Talbia Bukhari, Atif Mughal, and Yasir Arafat.
Balochistan’s longstanding issues
Party spokesperson Mustafa Malik briefed the meeting on the current political situation. The participants congratulated Tariq Hassan, the party’s secretary general, on his appointment as special assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh.

Chaudhry Shujaat expressed satisfaction over the party’s organizational affairs and ongoing restructuring efforts. He also held a telephonic conversation with former Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Naseer Mengal, during which they discussed the province’s political and social situation.
