QUETTA: A meeting of the Balochistan Apex Committee of the National Action Plan will be held in the provincial capital today to discuss the volatile security situation in the province.
The meeting will be chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and is expected to be attended by Corps Commander Quetta, Balochistan IGP, chief secretary, and other senior civil and military officials.
Sources say the committee is expected to make several important decisions. Participants will also discuss the province’s security situation and counter-terrorism efforts.
According to sources, top political and military leaders of the province will attend the meeting.
In a statement on Monday, CM Bugti emphasised the need for broader political consensus and inter-party harmony to resolve Balochistan’s longstanding issues.
