Balochistan unites against terrorism: thousands rally in solidarity

QUETTA: There are thousands of students and citizens across Balochistan who took to the streets this week to condemn terrorism and express solidarity with the victims of the tragic Khuzdar school bus attack. The rally comes in the wake of a brutal assault that targeted innocent school children, leaving several martyred and many injured.

The people of Balochistan, known for their hospitality, rich culture, and deep-rooted patriotism, have once again demonstrated their unyielding spirit in the face of adversity.

In this regard, across cities and towns, peaceful processions were held with banners calling for peace, justice, and the protection of children’s right to education.

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a banned terrorist outfit recognized as such by the Government of Pakistan and international bodies including the United Nations, has been blamed for the heinous attack. The BLA has long been involved in anti-state activities including bomb blasts, kidnappings, and the destruction of vital public infrastructure.

This time, however, the public’s voice has echoed louder than the sound of violence. In addition, government officials and community leaders have called on the federal and provincial governments to take stronger measures to ensure the safety of educational institutions and eliminate the threat of terrorism in the region.

The peaceful protests, held under tight security, sent a clear message: the people of Balochistan reject violence in all forms and stand united for peace, progress, and education.
