Balochistan Truck Owners Back Transporters’ Strike as It Enters 10th Day

QUETTA: The Balochistan Truck Owners Association has expressed full solidarity with the ongoing all-Pakistan transporters’ strike entered in its tenth day.

The association said loading and unloading in Balochistan has completely stopped. No vehicles will be allowed to operate until demands are met.

The statement said that the strike by goods transporters that has disrupted the movement of cargo across the country will continue until the government implements the charter of demands.

The association warned that if the government fails to accept the demands, protests will intensify. The strike, now in its 10th day, has slowed the flow of goods between ports, industrial centers and markets, raising concerns over supply chains in an economy heavily reliant on road transport for domestic trade and exports.

Representatives of the Balochistan Goods Truck Owners Association are patrolling key highways to enforce the strike, it added.

They stressed that whether loaded or empty, no vehicle will be allowed to move.

Officials said final negotiations between the government and transporters are scheduled in Karachi today.

The association vowed not to yield to any pressure or persuasion.
