Balochistan traders join UBG to strengthen economic voice

QUETTA – In a significant move to address long-standing economic challenges in Balochistan, various business and trader groups from the province officially merged with the United Business Group (UBG), operating under the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

The announcement was made during a high-profile gathering in Quetta, where renowned businessman and ex-president of the Balochistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Ghulam Farooq Khilji, was appointed Chairman of UBG Balochistan, while Jumma Khan Noorzai was named Senior Vice Chairman.

Both will lead UBG’s provincial standing committees.

Notable figures including Quetta Chamber President Haji Mohammad Ayub Maryani, Chamber of Small Industry President Jumma Khan Noorzai, former caretaker CM Alaudin Marri, and business leaders Haji Fojan Badini and Wali Noorzai were present.

The merger was formalized in the presence of UBG Patron-in-Chief S.M. Tanveer, FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh, and Hanif Gohar.

Khilji emphasized that the move signifies more than symbolic unity—it reflects a collective determination for progress and strong representation at the national level. FPCCI and UBG leaders hailed the development as a milestone that promises renewed efforts to strengthen Balochistan’s economy and the wider business sector.
