Balochistan to Observe ‘Youm-e-Istehsaal Kashmir’ on Aug 5

QUETTA: The Balochistan government will observe Youm-e-Istehsaal Kashmir on August 5, 2025, to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), in coordination with nationwide commemorations.

The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) issued an official notification announcing a series of province-wide events designed to highlight the ongoing humanitarian and political crisis in Kashmir and to reaffirm Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners will organize public rallies, awareness walks, and special events at the district and tehsil levels. They will also oversee essay writing competitions, photo exhibitions, and public forums to involve students and civil society in deepening awareness of the Kashmiri freedom struggle.

The government will illuminate buildings and major public spaces while prominently displaying Pakistani and Kashmiri flags to symbolize unity and shared aspirations.

The Information Department will lead media coverage, ensuring widespread visibility through print, electronic, and social media platforms. It will distribute special messages, visuals, and documentation to amplify the message of solidarity and resistance.

Deputy Commissioners will mobilize broad public participation to ensure that events are inclusive and impactful across all regions of the province.

Youm-e-Istehsaal marks the anniversary of India’s unilateral move on August 5, 2019, when it revoked Article 370 and stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its special constitutional status. That decision triggered a harsh military crackdown, resulting in widespread human rights violations and the ongoing suffering of millions of Kashmiris.

The day stands as a solemn tribute to the resilience of the Kashmiri people and underscores Pakistan’s enduring commitment to their just cause.
