Balochistan to launch Green Bus Service in Turbat

QUETTA: The Balochistan government will launch a Green Bus Service in Turbat, with four new buses set to begin operations in the coming weeks, officials said Saturday.

Makran Division Commissioner Qadir Bakhsh Pirkan announced the plan during a meeting, saying the service would expand public transport options and provide modern amenities to residents. The buses will run on key routes across the city to improve daily transit for the local population.

The provincial government recently added 21 buses to its fleet under an expansion of the Green Bus Project. Of these, 17 will operate in Quetta and four in Turbat.

Provincial Transport Secretary Muhammad Hayat Kakar said the decision followed the success of the initial Green Bus initiative. He confirmed that five of the Quetta buses will function as “Pink Buses,” reserved for women during designated hours, while the remaining 12 will operate as Green Buses on different city routes.
