Balochistan to get thousands new gas connections

QUETTA: The government has finalized a plan to issue over 116,000 new gas connections in the next fiscal year. This comes despite Pakistan’s ongoing natural gas shortage.

Budget documents show the target includes 115,530 domestic connections. The plan also aims to add 550 commercial and 350 industrial connections.

Out of the total, 85,740 connections will go to Sindh and Balochistan. The remaining 30,530 will be for Punjab, Islamabad, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) will handle 85,740 connections. Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) will manage 30,530.
