QUETTA: Balochistan will receive Rs. 673 billion under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award in the upcoming fiscal year 2025–26.
According to reports, the federal government will transfer an additional Rs. 6 billion to the province by the end of the fiscal year, June 30, 2026. This is significantly lower than the additional Rs. 38 billion Balochistan received beyond the projected figure during the 2023–24 fiscal year.
For the first time, the federal revenue from gas royalty and development surcharge has been presented as a combined figure in the federal budget. In previous years, these were shown separately, which allowed for better transparency and accountability in resource sharing.
Experts have pointed out that combining the gas-related revenues makes it difficult to determine the exact fluctuation in direct transfers to the province from gas resources.

Despite these concerns, the allocation of Rs. 673 billion remains a critical financial resource for Balochistan, which has long demanded a fairer share of federal revenues to address its developmental challenges.
