Balochistan to establish Women Protection Force

Balochistan government has announced the creation of a dedicated Women Protection Force.

QUETTA: In a significant move to enhance women’s safety, the Balochistan government has announced the creation of a dedicated Women Protection Force.

This new force, established by the provincial Home Department, is designed to provide immediate protection and response for women and girls facing harassment, violence, or sexual assault.

To further strengthen these efforts, the provincial cabinet has also approved a Special Sexual Offences Investigation Unit. This unit will operate under the Anti-Rape Act and will be responsible for investigating these serious crimes across the province.

In a related development Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan (South) organized a seminar in Kech district titled The Role of Baloch Women in Social Development to underscore women’s contributions to the province’s educational, social, and national progress.

Over two hundred women, along with members of the Balochistan Assembly, political and social figures, teachers, doctors, and intellectuals attended the event. The panel featured former Chief Minister of Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, Provincial Minister Meena Majeed, former MPA Mahjabeen Sheeran, and Professor Dr. Shahida Habib.

Speakers said Baloch women have proven their capabilities in every field—education, medicine, politics, and bureaucracy—standing shoulder to shoulder with men.

Inspector General FC Balochistan (South) said in his address that social development is an evolutionary process, and Baloch women, through their hard work, determination, and talent, are playing a vital role in the nation’s advancement.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants pledged to strengthen women’s role in the province’s development by ensuring equal opportunities in education, employment, and leadership.
