Balochistan reports 345 road accidents during Eid, injuring 672

QUETTA: At least two people were killed and 672 others were injured in road mishaps as Balochistan witnessed a sharp rise in road accidents during the three-day Eid ul Adha holidays

According to details, the surge in accidents is attributed to increased holiday traffic, overspeeding, and negligent driving. The highest number of accidents occurred on the trauma-prone highways of Khuzdar and Zhob. Trauma centers linked to these areas reported alarming figures: 84 accidents with 157 injuries on Khuzdar’s  highway, and 107 accidents with 215 injuries on Zhob’s highway, making them the most accident-prone regions during the holiday period.

Similarly, additional accident-prone areas included Winder, Lasbela (N-25) with 20 accidents and 52 injuries; Qila Saifullah (N-50) with 15 accidents and 35 injuries; and Ziarat Cross, Pishin (N-50) with 10 accidents and 21 injuries.

Tragically, two lives were lost—one each in Shinkai and Qila Saifullah (N-50).

Authorities have urged drivers to observe road safety rules and exercise caution, especially during high-traffic holiday periods, to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
