QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has launched the Balochistan Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector Plan 2025–2035 with the collaboration of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHE), Local Government (LGRD), Climate Change Department, and UNICEF.

Provincial Minister for PHE, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, inaugurated the plan at a formal ceremony and highlighted its objectives. He stated that the government aims to ensure access to clean drinking water, improved sanitation, and environmental protection across the province.

The minister emphasized that women and children in remote areas face the greatest challenge in accessing safe water. He assured that the plan will guarantee equal facilities for marginalized and deprived communities.

Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran added that the government will actively involve communities and development partners in the implementation of the project. “We are taking concrete steps to secure a better future for citizens, especially women and children,” he said.
