QUETTA: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, has made history by launching the province’s first-ever fully funded BEEF scholarship program for transgender students. This landmark initiative recognizes transgender students as the “Good Students of Balochistan,” and marks a powerful step toward inclusion, compassion, and opportunity.
Currently, 60 transgender students are enrolled in Matric, Intermediate, and BS programs. Many others are also receiving technical and vocational training through SCESPEB. Each student receives a fully funded scholarship along with a monthly stipend, helping them pursue education with dignity and aim for self-reliance.
Under the new plan, the government will add 50 new scholarship slots every year. The goal is clear: empower the transgender community through quality education and skills development so they can earn a living and live with respect.
