QUETTA: Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar has announced sweeping reforms in the province’s healthcare sector. He said that starting today, all government hospitals will distribute medicines through a fully digital system, marking the province’s first major step toward AI-based health services.
“This is a revolutionary moment for Balochistan’s health sector,” said Kakar. He made it clear that corruption, negligence, absenteeism, and the influence of mafias will no longer be tolerated. “Public funds belong to the people. Anyone who fails to deliver will be shown the door,” he warned.
The Health Minister emphasized that every public servant must prove their performance. “Government salaries come from taxpayers’ pockets. The public deserves quality healthcare,” he added.
Kakar also shared key updates on infrastructure and services. A modern 200-bed trauma center in Quetta is near completion. The distribution of health cards across the province has also been expedited.
He announced that kidney transplant services will soon be launched at BINUQ. Work is also underway to establish an NICVD hospital with the support of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
