QUETTA: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, has announced a major province-wide crackdown targeting declared criminals, with incentives for high-performing police districts. The special campaign is scheduled to run from January 26 to February 24, 2026.

In a directive issued to senior officers, IGP Tahir instructed all Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) and District SSPs/SPs to utilize all available resources to ensure the maximum number of arrests. He emphasized that DIGs must personally participate in the campaign to oversee operations at the district level.

A key component of the strategy involves enhanced data sharing. The Central Police Office has ordered all districts to compile and submit complete lists of wanted criminals. This data will be integrated into an exchange system with police authorities in other provinces. Furthermore, ranges and districts are directed to share their lists internally to track criminals who may flee across district boundaries. The IGP also instructed that lists be updated by legally removing deceased individuals.

To ensure rigorous monitoring, district SSPs and SPs must submit a daily progress report by 10:00 AM to the AIGP Operations office. Arrested individuals will be categorized (A, B, C) based on crime severity, with those involved in heinous crimes reported immediately to the central office.

Recognizing exceptional effort, IGP Tahir announced that officers and personnel from the top four performing districts in the campaign will be awarded certificates and prizes. The campaign underscores a coordinated push to improve law and order by targeting wanted individuals across Balochistan and beyond its borders through inter-provincial police cooperation.
