QUETTA: Balochistan Police Chief Muhammad Tahir on Monday carried out a detailed security review of Quetta’s highly sensitive Red Zone, officials said.
He was accompanied by the DIG Quetta, SSP Operations and other senior police officers.
During the visit, the Inspector General of Police inspected security checkpoints, patrol routes, weapons readiness and CCTV coverage across the Red Zone.
He also toured the inner and outer sections of the Civil Secretariat, reviewing sensitive offices, visitor management, walk-through gates and the control room monitoring system.
IGP Muhammad Tahir instructed officers to further tighten security.
He said the Red Zone serves as the administrative and political centre of the provincial government, and “no negligence will be tolerated”.
He also visited the Smart Police Station and the Civil Lines Police Station, expressing satisfaction with the overall arrangements.
Speaking to the media, Tahir said protecting the lives and property of citizens is the police’s top priority.

He added that all available resources will be utilised to maintain law and order, and security will be further strengthened in the Red Zone and across the city.
