QUETTA: The Balochistan government has purchased 21 new buses to launch a bus service in the provincial capital, Quetta, and in Turbat, aiming to provide better travel facilities to the public.
For the convenience of women, four pink buses have been included among the new fleet. These will be reserved exclusively for female passengers.
Previously, eight green buses were already operational in Quetta, offering modern, comfortable, and low-fare travel options to citizens. The addition of the new buses will further ease commuting, improve the public transport system, and provide greater convenience to the public.
According to authorities, the newly purchased buses will begin operations soon. The objective is to reduce traffic congestion, save fuel, and offer reliable travel alternatives.
During the tenure of former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, the Balochistan government had devised a plan to purchase 100 green buses to enhance travel services in Quetta. However, in the first phase, the Transport Department initially acquired only eight buses, which began operations on the Baleli and Sariab routes.
