Government Prioritizes Public Convenience with "Easy Access to Treatment" Initiative

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has launched an initiative to bring healthcare directly to the people’s doorstep, indicating treatment accessibility as a top administrative priority.

In this regard, this extensive revitalization project is designed to alleviate the burden on residents of remote and rural districts, for whom accessing medical care often meant undertaking arduous and costly journeys.

So far, there are thousands of families can now receive primary healthcare within or near their own communities. Furthermore, the restored facilities are fully operational, staffed with medical doctors, and equipped with essential medicines and modern diagnostic equipment.

In addition, the biometric attendance system has been implemented at these centers to ensure staff presence and accountability, guaranteeing that services are available to patients when needed.

Moreover, the provincial officials describe the drive as the fruit of a concerted effort between the Balochistan Department of Health and the provincial government, championed under the public-friendly vision of Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti.

The overarching goal is a fundamental shift in service delivery: moving healthcare closer to the population.

“The core objective is to ensure that treatment reaches the people, rather than people having to struggle to reach treatment,” a senior health department official stated.

“We are committed to making quality basic healthcare a convenience, not a challenge, for every citizen in Balochistan.”

The reactivation of these BHUs represents a significant step in strengthening the primary healthcare infrastructure in Pakistan’s largest province, directly addressing long-standing gaps in rural healthcare access and aiming to improve overall health outcomes for its population.
