QUETTA: In a significant move aimed at improving governance and public service delivery, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has announced the creation of six new districts and five new divisions within the province. The decision, described as a major step towards administrative improvement, is designed to address the unique challenges posed by Balochistan’s vast territory and dispersed population.

Announcing the overhaul, CM Bugti stated that effective governance has long been a formidable challenge due to the province’s geography. “The establishment of new districts and divisions will make government services available to the people at their doorsteps,” he explained. The primary objective is to eliminate the sense of deprivation in backward areas and ensure better, more accessible governance for all citizens.

The government anticipates wide-ranging benefits from this administrative restructuring. It is expected to lead to more effective monitoring of development projects and tangible improvements in key sectors such as security, education, and healthcare. By bringing the administrative framework closer to remote communities, the government aims to enhance its responsiveness and efficiency.

Chief Minister Bugti emphasized the administration’s commitment to transparency, framing this initiative as a crucial effort to integrate Balochistan into the national mainstream of development. The creation of these new administrative units represents one of the most substantial governance reforms in the province in recent years, signaling a focused attempt to bridge the gap between the government and its citizens.
