QUETTA: The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) sealed two ice cream factories and a water plant during operations in Quetta and Simli Kachlak.
Officials said the ice cream units were using harmful chemicals, contaminated water, and substandard ingredients. The production areas were also found in extremely unhygienic conditions.
The water plant was unregistered. It had no laboratory reports. Officials stated that the plant was bottling water with counterfeit company labels and selling it to markets.
The BFA warned that no leniency would be shown to those endangering public health. It said food safety would not be compromised and action against substandard factories would continue.
