Balochistan Food Authority fines food units for violations

QUETTA: The inspection team of the Balochistan Food Authority conducted operations in Sibi, imposing fines on three units and issuing warning notices to nine others.

According to a spokesperson of the Balochistan Food Authority, the food safety team, led by the Deputy Director Sibi, inspected various bakeries and food production outlets. A total of 20 units were checked, out of which three were fined, while nine were issued warning notices for operating without a BFA license.

The penalized outlets were found with major violations, including poor hygiene arrangements, failure to display expiry dates on sweets, open garbage bins, and workers not wearing gloves, masks, or hairnets during food preparation. The team said that immediate action was taken, and fines were imposed on the violators.

The food safety team further confirmed that the remaining shops and outlets inspected were found satisfactory.
