Balochistan CM vows no concessions to terrorists, pledges state’s writ

A strict operation is unavoidable in Balochistan: CM Bugti

ISLAMABAD: Balochistan’s Chief Minister CM, Sarfraz Bugti, declared on Thursday that the government will continue strict military operations to establish peace in the province and uphold the state’s authority.

Speaking at a press conference, Bugti pointed to a recent intelligence-based operation as an example. He reported that during the raid a day earlier, security forces were fired upon by terrorists hiding in a house. The ensuing gunfight resulted in the death of two militants and the capture of another, identified as Jehanzaib. The CM  described the arrested individual as a hardcore terrorist involved in recruiting fighters and supplying weapons in the Dalbandin area.

Bugti firmly stated that no concessions would be made for terrorists who target innocent civilians. He accused some militants of destabilizing the state under the guise of fighting for Baloch identity.

While mentioning that the government has attempted dialogue in the past, Bugti drew a clear line, stating that deprivation does not justify violence or killing. He also addressed the issue of missing persons, claiming that activist Mahrang Baloch is spreading propaganda on the matter. He concluded by vowing, “We will not allow a state within the state.”
