Balochistan CM terms social media “Biggest Modern-Day Mischief”

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti described social media as the “biggest mischief” of the present era, warning that it is being used to spread falsehoods and incite unrest, while society remains unprepared to handle its impact.

In this sense, at the “National Stability Pakistan” conference, the Chief Minister said the dangerous trend of forwarding unverified content is contributing to societal chaos and misleading the public.

So far, Bugti noted that a month-long football tournament in Balochistan was successfully organized recently, attracting 30,000 spectators and teams from across the country.

The Chief Minister said that the provincial government is actively engaging with the youth to strengthen their bond with the state through jirgas and open forums. He acknowledged the right to protest but stressed that the practice of blocking roads for weeks has been ended.

“Those who lay down arms are welcome for dialogue, but the blood of innocent citizens will not go unanswered,” he stated firmly.

He focused on that Pakistan is a nuclear power and that a small group of armed individuals cannot impose their ideology on a nation of 250 million people.
