QUETTA: The provincial government of Balochistan has cancelled the registration of all welfare organizations and institutions registered with the Social Welfare Department.
According to details, Director General Balochistan Charities and Regulation Authority, Saleem Khosa said that all 1500 NGOs, foundations, trusts, madrasas, mosques, associations, unions, community organizations in Balochistan were registered with the Social Welfare Department, but now the registration of all these welfare organizations and institutions has been cancelled.
Khosa informed that now these welfare organizations and institutions will have to register again with the Balochistan Charities and Regulation Authority by July 31.

He said that the powers to take action against welfare organizations and institutions that receive funds and work without registration have been entrusted to the Deputy Commissioners. He also warned that those found guilty of violations could face one year in prison or a fine of Rs 2 million, or both punishments.
