Balochistan govt cancels Levies Act 2010 notifications, announces reforms

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has withdrawn all notifications issued under the Levies Act 2010, announcing that the Levies Force will now operate under the newly enacted Levies (Amendment) Act 2025.

According to a notification issued by the provincial Home Department, the government implemented the decision as part of reforms to modernize the Levies Force system.

Officials said the new law aims to strengthen the institutional structure of the Home Department, improve performance, and enhance the delivery of public services.

They added that the provincial government is aligning the Levies system with modern legislation to boost efficiency and ensure better service to citizens.

It is pertinent to here that the Provincial Assembly has passed the Levies Amendment Act 2025, all matters related to the Levies Force will be conducted under this new law. For this purpose, new notifications are being issued so that all legal requirements may be fulfilled and clarity may be ensured in the situation.

It is reiterated by the Home Department of Balochistan that the new legal framework will further improve institutional performance, increase the provision of public services, and align the Levies system entirely with the latest legislation.
