QUETTA: The Director of the Balochistan Meteorological Department has said that preparations are underway to deal with the ongoing monsoon season, which is expected to bring above-normal rainfall this year.
Speaking to a private TV channel, the official confirmed that the monsoon has officially begun in the province and more rain is likely in the coming weeks. He noted that the first spell of monsoon rains will end on Sunday, followed by a brief dry interval before the second spell begins.

He further stated that heavier rains are expected in August, urging local authorities to remain alert and take precautionary measures to manage potential flooding and water-related emergencies.
The department continues to monitor weather patterns closely and will issue timely updates as needed.
