Balochistan CM Warns Indian-Backed BLA Militants

QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly is set to be demolished and rebuilt, with Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti announcing that tenders for the demolition of the current building have been issued and a new state-of-the-art facility will be constructed within two years.

The session of the Balochistan Assembly began under the chairmanship of Speaker Captain (retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, with multiple legislative and administrative matters on the agenda.

During the session, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam member Mir Zabid Ali Reiki raised concerns about the lack of office space for standing committee chairmen, requesting that the committee block be activated. Responding to this, Chief Minister Bugti revealed the government’s ambitious plan for a new assembly building.

“The tender for demolishing the building of the Balochistan Assembly has been issued. The construction of the new building will start after the demolition,” CM Bugti stated. “Those who are saying that the building should not be built, but now there is no room for more offices in this building. We are not getting land anywhere else, so we are demolishing this building.”

The Chief Minister assured that sessions would continue uninterrupted, with proceedings shifting to the second building during construction. “We will also give a cultural touch to the new building. The federation is providing funds, and the new assembly building will be completed in two years,” he added.
