QUETTA: A joint condemnation resolution was formally submitted and debated in the Balochistan Assembly targeting Provincial Minister Sadiq Umrani over controversial remarks made during the August 31 assembly session.
The move was spearheaded by prominent provincial ministers including Mir Ziaullah Langove, Noor Muhammad Dummar, Bakht Kakakr, and Ali Madad Jatak, alongside assembly members Barkat Rind, Asfandyar Kakar, Hadiya Nawaz, Farah Azeem Shah, and Ashok Kumar.
Ali Madad Jatak, while strongly opening the debate against Sadiq Umrani, stated that the remarks made during the August 31 session caused deep anguish and hurt the sentiments of the people of Balochistan.
He condemned the language used by Sadiq Umrani, noting that elected representatives and parliamentary dignity were undermined.
The resolution text outlines that the remarks labeling individuals invited to Islamabad as being “disrespected” were misleading, inappropriate, and an affront to the collective stature of the house.
Lawmakers emphasized that such statements disrespect the democratic mandate of the public and target the collective prestige of the assembly.
Consequently, the assembly formally demanded that the controversial remarks made by Sadiq Umrani be expunged from the official proceedings immediately.
