QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly passed several resolutions presented in the session held on Friday under the chairmanship of Speaker Captain (retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai.
While addressing to the session, Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has asked the opposition members to show some respect towards the sanctity of the provincial assembly.
Regarding the opposition protest on the Mines and Mineral Bills, CM Bugti said that legislation is made by consensus. A detailed discussion was held with the opposition on the Mines and Minerals Act, and if there is still an objection, they are ready for further discussions.
The session meeting passed a resolution by member Fazal Qadir regarding the national highway connecting Zhob with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The resolution mentioned severe traffic jams and public problems in Zhob city. The House demanded that the federal government take immediate practical steps on the project.
A resolution by member Mirza Bad Ali Reki to divide Rakhshan Division into two constituencies of the National Assembly was also passed. During this, a resolution was also passed to declare Dr. Mehrullah, who was a victim of terrorism, as a martyr and to name the cancer hospital after him. This resolution was presented by Asghar Tareen.

The next session of the Balochistan Assembly will be held on May 5.
