ISLAMABAD: In a significant act of international cultural cooperation, Italy has returned a collection of approximately 5,000-year-old ancient artifacts to Pakistan that were illegally smuggled out from archaeological sites in Balochistan.
The returned items, which originate from the prehistoric Kuli and Nal sites in the province, date back to the Bronze Age. Pakistani officials confirmed that these artifacts offer a rare glimpse into early settlements that predate the rise of the great Indus Valley Civilization.
The precious objects were intercepted and seized by Italian authorities during an operation targeting the illicit international antiquities trade. The handover of these artifacts follows the return of seven other pieces to Pakistan’s Consulate General in Milan just this past April, highlighting a continuing collaborative effort.
In an official statement, the Pakistani embassy hailed the successful recovery, calling it a “wonderful example of excellent cooperation between two friendly states.” The restitution underscores the importance of international partnerships in combating the trafficking of cultural heritage and ensuring that stolen national treasures are returned to their countries of origin. The artifacts are now expected to be repatriated to Pakistan for preservation and study.
Meanwhile in a separate move Section 144 has been imposed across Balochistan. According to the sources of the interior department of Balochistan, section 144 has been imposed across Balochistan keeping in view the situation of law-and-order.
The demonstration of any kind of weapons will be strictly prohibited.
Similarly, five or more people will not be allowed to gather on any public place. No political, religious or social group will be allowed to conduct any procession, rally, sit-in or any such kind of gathering.
According to the interior department of Balochistan, this move is unavoidable keeping in view the ongoing challenges of the national security as well as the law-and-order situation across Balochistan.
It is worth mentioning that the Indian-sponsored militant groups like BLA, BLF, BRA and many others have launched many such attacks in the ongoing year.
The RAW-backed militants get funded, weaponized and propagated from across the border and launch attacks not only on the security forces but also on the innocent civilians across Balochistan.
So far, thousands of innocent people have been brutally killed in many such attacks.
RAW aims at provocation, unrest and separatism in Balochistan and backs all such militant attacks.
Pakistan has exposed RAW’s disgusting role of Backing militancy in Balochistan and KP on a number of occasions.
