QUETTA: Governor of Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, highlighted the strong and friendly ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, noting that these relations must now evolve to meet modern global demands.
He stressed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation into new sectors and pointed out that both nations could benefit by learning from each other’s experiences.
Governor Mandokhail suggested that Pakistan can take advantage of Bangladesh’s proficiency in cottage industries to promote greater involvement of women—who make up half of the population—in the country’s economic and commercial spheres.
This would also help enhance bilateral trade and economic relations.
He shared these remarks during a meeting with Bangladesh’s High Commissioner, Iqbal Hussain Khan, held in Islamabad.
The Governor’s Principal Secretary, Hashim Khan Ghalzai, was also present. Both sides discussed regional political and economic developments, ways to strengthen ties between the two brotherly Muslim nations, and other matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the Bangladeshi High Commissioner showed interest in importing coal, limestone, marble, and decorative stones from Balochistan.
