Balochistan achieves major progress in immunization coverage after years of stagnation

QUETTA: Balochistan has recorded an outstanding progress in its immunization coverage after five years of stagnation. As per the official data, the province’s vaccination rate has risen from 38 percent to 47 percent within a single year, a notable 9 percent increase that health experts describe as a “turning point” in Balochistan’s public health efforts.

Furthermore, the officials attribute this achievement to the Balochistan government effective reforms, transparent policies, and improved administrative management.

The progress indicates a strong political and institutional commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring better access to preventive services across the province, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

In this sense, the Third-Party Verification of Immunization Coverage Survey, along with an independent report by Aga Khan University, has confirmed the accuracy and credibility of these improvements.

So far, both assessments mention that the province’s renewed focus on accountability, data monitoring, and community engagement has contributed significantly to the rise in immunization rates.

Moreover, Balochistan is now closer than ever to achieving its target of 70 percent coverage. Health authorities say that, with continued momentum and sustained investment, the province is on a promising path toward meeting and potentially surpassing this goal in the near future.

“This progress indicates the beginning of a healthier, safer, and brighter future for Balochistan,” a senior health department official said, noting that the government remains committed to expanding immunization outreach and ensuring that no child is left behind.

The recent improvement in vaccination coverage is seen not only as a public health victory but also as a reflection of growing trust between citizens and government institutions.

Balochistan moves toward achieving its immunization targets, stakeholders agree that maintaining this collaborative spirit will be crucial in building a stronger, more resilient healthcare system for all.
