QUETTA: The Balochi Academy has formally announced the launch of a landmark project titled Encyclopedia Balochistannica, in order to document the rich history, culture, language, geography, and natural life of Balochistan.
In this sense, the Academy described the project as a long-awaited initiative that will serve as an authoritative resource on the heritage and identity of the Baloch people. The encyclopedia will cover a wide range of subjects including ancient and modern history, tribal structures, folklore, myths and legends, as well as literature, poetry, and political geography.
In addition, it will also feature comprehensive sections on the flora and fauna of the province, including its plants, animals, birds, and marine life.
Moreover, the Academy explained that the project will be divided into four broad areas: the history and identity of the Baloch people; the Balochi language, literature, and storytelling traditions; the geography of the province, with a focus on rivers, mountains, and significant locations; and the natural life of the region.
Furthermore, the officials noticed that the encyclopedia Balochistannica is intended to become a vital reference work for students, researchers, historians, and all those interested in exploring the cultural and intellectual heritage of Balochistan.

The Academy further announced that more than 100 scholars, researchers, and subject experts from across the world will be invited to contribute to the encyclopedia.
