LAHORE: Star batter Babar Azam has decided to take a short break from cricket following advice from the national team management.
According to sources, the team management suggested that Babar Azam take some rest, which is why he will not participate in the ongoing National T20 Cup.
The management did not instruct him to play in the tournament, and Lahore Whites have already been informed about his unavailability.
Sources further said that Babar Azam has started working individually with coaches in the nets.
He has begun training with a focus on the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) and is working on restoring his previous batting technique.
It is worth mentioning that Babar Azam will open the batting for Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL.
