Carrera: India defeated Australia by 48 runs in the fourth T20 match, taking a 2–1 lead in the five-match series.
Playing first in Carrera, India posted a total of 167 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted overs.
For India, Shubman Gill top-scored with 46, Abhishek Sharma contributed 28, and Shivam Dube added 22 runs.
From the Australian side, Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa each claimed three wickets.
In reply, Australia’s batting lineup completely collapsed, as the entire team was bowled out for just 119 runs in the 19th over.
Captain Mitchell Marsh managed 30, and Matthew Short made 25, but none of the remaining batsmen could stay long at the crease.
The poor performance was evident as five players failed to reach double figures. For India, Washington Sundar took three wickets, while Axar Patel and Shivam Dube bagged two each.
Axar Patel was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance. Of the five-match series, the first game was washed out due to rain, Australia won the second, but India have now clinched back-to-back victories in the following two matches.
Australia has beaten India in the ODI series with two matches to one.
Australia had one the first two matches of series quite comprehensively, however, India ended up the series with a win at Sydney.
Australia has a schedule of the Ashes series ahead of the ongoing series with India.
Australia and England will lock horns in the Ashes series starting from November 18, 2025.
Many key Australian players had been rested for the long Ashes series coming ahead.
Skipper Pat Cummins was ruled out of the squad against India; however, Mitchel Starc and Josh Hazelwood were rested for the upcoming Ashes series.
