ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police arrested 11 women, including Farzana Bari, and three men while they attempted to hold an unauthorized Aurat March (Women’s March) in the city.
The march had been announced from Sector F-6 to D-Chowk.
As participants began gathering, police arrived at the scene and detained the organizers and other individuals involved.
According to the district administration, no No Objection Certificate (NOC) had been issued for the Aurat March.
Section 144 is currently in force across the city, prohibiting public gatherings of five or more people without prior permission.
