ATC orders to defreeze Shoukat Khanum Hospital accounts

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-terrorism Court Rawalpindi orders to defreeze the bank accounts of Shoukat Khanum Memorial Hospital and the NUML University.

According to the details, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has ordered to defreeze four bank accounts of the Shoukat Khanum Hospitals.

The court has also ordered to defreeze the account of the NUML Univeristy.

The ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah heard the Aleema Khan case in the Sadiq Abad Police Station.

The prosecutor Zaheer Shah said that no written petition was given to freeze the bank accounts of the Shoukat Khanum Memorial Hospital as well as the NUML University.

He further said that Aleema Khan’s bank account was sent to the State Bank of Pakistan.

The State Bank of Pakistan freezed all the accounts of Shoukat Khanum Hospital and the NUML University.

NUML (National University of Modern Languages) is a public sector university that primarily depends on government grants, student tuition fees, research funding, and development funds for its operations.

These funds are used for academic programs, faculty salaries, campus infrastructure, student services, and research projects.

The university also receives support for international collaborations, scholarships, and language research through approved public-sector funding channels.

Financial matters of NUML fall under public accountability and audit systems.

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital is a non-profit charitable institution that mainly runs on public donations, zakat, sadqat, and overseas Pakistani contributions.

A large portion of its patients receive free or subsidized cancer treatment through these donated funds.

The hospital maintains a structured system for fundraising, financial transparency, and annual audits to ensure that donations are used solely for patient care, medical equipment, research, and hospital expansion.

It is widely supported by individuals, corporate donors, and international contributors.
