BANNU: Assistant Commissioner of North Waziristan, Shah Wali Khan, has martyred in terrorist attack in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Officials said three others, including two security personnel and a civilian, were also martyred in the attack when vehicle of the the Assistant Commissioner has come under attack by the terrorists associated with Fitna al Khawarij.
Police confirmed the death of the Shah Wali Khan saying the attack occurred in the Masoomabad Mamand Khel area. Shah Wali Khan was traveling on the Bannu-Miranshah road with his security squad when armed assailants targeted his convoy.
The attackers also disarmed the injured security personnel, police said. The wounded, including two security officers and the driver, were immediately taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Bannu.
Police dispatched a large contingent to the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are working to locate the assailants.
The Assistant Commissioner of Bannu confirmed that communication with Shah Wali Khan was lost after the attack. Officials described the assault as highly coordinated.

The incident underscores the serious security challenges in North Waziristan and Bannu. Law enforcement agencies have heightened vigilance, and the public has been urged to cooperate to prevent further harm.
