ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that India remains intent on creating instability in the region, while Pakistan has made it clear that any act of Indian aggression will be met with a forceful response.
During his visit to the United States, he addressed the Pakistani community, calling it an honor to speak to overseas Pakistanis.
He praised them as a source of pride and dignity, noting that they are not a “brain drain” but a “brain gain” for the nation.
He said India seeks to portray itself as a “Vishwaguru,” yet in reality, it falls short, citing the involvement of India’s intelligence agency RAW in transnational terrorism — such as the killing of a Sikh leader in Canada, the case of eight Indian naval officers in Qatar, and incidents like Kulbhushan Jadhav.
The Field Marshal stated that Pakistan has successfully fought a diplomatic battle against India’s discriminatory and duplicitous policies.
He condemned recent Indian aggression carried out under false pretenses, which violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and martyred innocent civilians.
This escalation, he said, brought the region dangerously close to war, where any miscalculation could have been catastrophic.
He thanked President Trump for his strategic leadership in preventing war between India and Pakistan, as well as in halting other conflicts around the world.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s firm and determined response managed to prevent a broader conflict.
However, India remains bent on destabilizing the region, and Pakistan has reiterated that it will respond decisively to any aggression.
On the Kashmir issue, he stressed that it is not India’s internal matter but an unfinished international agenda.
Quoting Quaid-e-Azam, he said that Kashmir is Pakistan’s “jugular vein” and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Referring to his second visit to the United States in just six weeks, he said it symbolized a new dimension in Pakistan–US relations, aimed at building constructive, sustainable, and positive engagement.
He condemned the ongoing genocide in Gaza as one of the worst human tragedies, with grave regional and global implications.
Field Marshal Munir also noted that multiple terrorist organizations, including the militant faction Fitna al-Khawarij, operate from Afghanistan against Pakistan.
He stressed that Pakistan’s prosperity is linked to the global Pakistani diaspora.
Declaring Pakistan the last defensive barrier against terrorism, he said there is no sympathy for terrorists, who will face the full force of justice.
He acknowledged the unwavering devotion of overseas Pakistanis, who are always among the first to respond during national emergencies.
On social media, he observed that it has become a powerful tool but is also exploited by anti-state elements to create “engineered chaos.”
Quoting the Holy Qur’an, he reminded: “O you who believe! If a wicked person brings you news, verify it, lest you harm people unknowingly and then regret your action.”
He pointed out that the younger generation’s mindset, relationships, and priorities are different, and understanding them is essential.
He expressed optimism about significant investment prospects through potential trade agreements with the United States.
On the foreign relations front, he highlighted Pakistan’s achievements, including the ongoing implementation of various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the US, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and China, which will promote economic cooperation and investment.
Field Marshal Munir stated that Pakistan’s 64% youth population holds immense potential for nation-building. He attributed recent diplomatic and security successes against India to Allah’s blessings, the collective effort of the nation, the foresight of political leadership, and the professionalism of the armed forces. Concluding his speech, he said the question is no longer “if” Pakistan will rise, but “how soon and how strongly.”
