Field Marshal Asim Munir, Ishaq Dar welcome Iranian delegation on arrival in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD : A high-level Iranian delegation, led by Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, arrived in Islamabad on Saturday to participate in crucial talks, the Foreign Office confirmed.

 

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also accompanied the delegation on the visit.

 

Upon arrival, the delegation received a warm welcome from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq was also present at the reception, along with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who greeted the distinguished guests. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also attended the reception, according to the Foreign Office.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed hope that the parties would proceed with the talks in a constructive manner. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue facilitating a sustainable and lasting solution to the dispute, the Foreign Office spokesperson added.

 

Further details regarding the agenda and outcomes of the talks are expected in due course.
