CHAGAI: The security forces foiled a major terror plot in Chagai, after conducting a successful operation against militants linked with the group Fitna-e-Hindustan.
The timely action prevented large-scale destruction in the province, according to official sources. In this regard, two terrorists were killed while another, identified as Jehanzeb, surrendered to the security forces.
Furthermore, Jehanzeb disclosed that his real name is Jehanzeb Ali, though within the organization he was known by the alias Ali Jan. He admitted to working closely with a militant leader, Zubair Ahmed, for the past two years.
In this sense, Jehanzeb recounted that on the night of September 23–24, security forces surrounded their hideout and called upon them to surrender.
On the other hand, Zubair and another militant, Nisar, opened fire on the troops. Zubair shot himself, while Nisar was killed during the exchange of fire. Jehanzeb stated that he then chose to lay down his arms, realizing the futility of continued violence.
Moreover, Jehanzeb admitted that the loss of his companions made him reconsider his path.
“I understood that fighting is not a solution,” he confessed, further criticizing the role of certain organizations.
He claimed that groups such as the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) and the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) have been misleading youth and pushing them towards violence rather than dialogue.
The government has confirmed their determination to maintain peace in the province, stressing that the state will continue to counter such threats with firmness.
