Army will stand as ‘wall of steel’ against any aggression: DG ISPR

TOPI: Pakistan has taken effective action against militants operating from Afghanistan and will continue to act as a “wall of steel” against any aggression, the country’s military spokesperson said on Thursday.

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry made the remarks during a visit to the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) of Engineering Sciences and Technology, where he met students and faculty members.

Chaudhry said the youth represent Pakistan’s bright future and play a vital role in driving the country’s progress and prosperity.

He discussed recent border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, the overall security situation, and the challenge of misinformation on social media. The DG ISPR urged students to promote responsible information sharing and develop critical thinking to counter disinformation and propaganda.

Students welcomed the interactive session and called for similar engagements to help address misinformation and foster awareness of national security issues.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry expressed pride in the armed forces’ role in safeguarding the country, saying the military has always delivered a firm and decisive response to every act of hostility.

He added that the nation continues to value the Army’s contributions to peace, stability, and development.

Last week, Pakistan had killed more than 100 Khawarij while attempting to infilterate Pakistan from Afghanistan.
