Pakistan's top military leadership paid solemn tribute to Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider) on the 60th anniversary of his martyrdom.

RAWALPINDI : Pakistan’s top military leadership paid solemn tribute to Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider) on the 60th anniversary of his martyrdom.

In a statement, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu commemorated the war hero on behalf of the Armed Forces of Pakistan. They honored his extraordinary bravery and ultimate sacrifice.

The military leadership recounted how, during the 1965 War, Major Bhatti heroically defended the Burki sector near Lahore. For five days and nights, he stood firm against relentless enemy attacks. His unwavering resolve and exemplary leadership inspired his men and were pivotal in halting the advance of a superior enemy force. His martyrdom became a defining moment of the war and a lasting symbol of courage and patriotism.

The Armed Forces stated that his selfless devotion to duty continues to serve as a beacon of inspiration for future generations. The tribute also honored the legacy of all martyrs who have laid down their lives for the nation’s sovereignty and security.

Reaffirming their commitment, the Armed Forces pledged to defend the country with the same strength of will and character embodied by Major Bhatti.
